I like something that Nicky Woolf points out in his reporting a few times after having attended a furry con and talked to so many of us: there is a sincerity and openness and friendliness that does not compute with calculated irony and sarcasm that detractors feel needs to exist in social interaction.
Based on everything that I’ve seen over the years, I’m really hoping that his legacy is more championing creators than the “That’s Just a Theory!” soundbite.
Comprehensive, federal digital privacy laws are required. That’s it. We need to stop with the patchwork regulation that sounds good on the surface but gets twisted to harm marginalized folks.

Misophonia has been a struggle of mine for most of my life, long before I learned the term. I realize why neurotypicals can’t understand us, as I cannot understand how people can’t find certain sounds infuriating and thought-derailing.
