Last year I started working on some partial fursuit things for Megaplex. Then I got sick, too many other things came up, different projects, and I just put it off. I said I’ll do it next year.
Well, we’re well into next year. Like a third of the year is gone already! And a third of the year is after the con. So that leaves me four months to do all of this. Which may or may not be enough time? Especially if I’m going to try to make partials for others who are going with me as well.
I finally started doing some templating this week, so that I can cut fabric for sewing. But I find that tasks where I have to make them up while working on them just drag right on. If I’m told what to do, or have a better idea of how to do it, I can work a lot easier. Rote tasks are less mentally taxing. But having to figure every step out while doing it makes me hesitate, procrastinate, and eventually run low on time.
Spoiler: this doesn’t just apply to fursuit making! I have longed for some kind of project manager that could definitively tell me what I should be working on at any given time and keeping me on task. I don’t know how that would actually work out, but it’s probably worth giving a shot.
I’ve heard that some folks have used AI chatbots to do this. I’m half seriously considering having whoever reads my posts in the morning choose my tasks for the day.
I dunno, what would you do? How do you handle this?

I’m back to thinking on what kind of tools could exist to empower moderators more on the fediverse. Ideas exist, but tools are hard!
Where Black and other PoC users and creators go online is where culture goes. And that should extend to ownership of the platforms themselves.
Not at all very paranoid, especially in a company that “values openness”
And became one of my top three Zelda games!

Blacksad is such an interesting series. Definitely part of my furry upbringing

Speaking of furries, we are not exempt from politics, as much as some in the fandom wish that were the case.
I admit, I assumed that it was gonna be .ai with that big boom, but forgot that this video is a year old, as well as what my first URL was
Now that it is all around us, it feels like we are within it, trapped by it.
It is so pleasing to hear Dan fanboy again with a game developer who is just matter of fact and interesting in how and why she made the development decisions that she did.
I have loved Speed Racer since seeing it in theaters in 2008, and you’re not taking that visual trip away from me!
I like the positioning of this as interviews for a documentary, after a fictional astronomical event has occurred.

I get to see Ninja Sex Party live in three weeks!
Agreed, much better than diamonds.
I think that I linked this from the podcast a month ago? Either way, it’s on youtube now and still fun
Near the end one host talks about leaving local group chats because of the toxicity. I’m glad that I’m not alone. Shared Interest + Geographic Proximity does not alone make for good community.
If you made it this far, why not share this newsletter with a friend? Or share with me some of the things that you found that you liked this week. Either way, I’m thrilled!
