I’m fluffing up for a furry time

I’m making some good progress on most of my projects for Megaplex this year. I’ve got a few things that I want to have going, and it’s been a driver for my personal project time. This includes:

  • New stickers and more for merch
  • A scavenger hunt app to give a first run at the con
  • Real progress on PawPals, the furry social link app that I’ve got some new ideas for already
  • Some 3D printing

I should be doing fursuit work as well, and other sewing, but that’s just taking a long time for me to feel comfortable with. I’m just hoping that it turns out not terribly, or at least doesn’t take up all of my mental space. This is what I get for delaying things yet again!

I’m nearing the point of putting a signup page for the app demo, because I want to try to build up a bit of hype. I believe that it can be a real benefit to the community, and that’s what I’m going to pitch with.

Sorry for the delay again on linkshares, but hey, I’ve been busy!

Wired did a whole series of articles about winning fights this month. And dealing with disingenuous people online is one of the most common fights we have these days. Somehow I’m still amazed how many people approach me specifically looking to take whatever I say in the worst way possible 🤣

With the new show about an abuse ring coming out, I’m hearing so many furries with takes that are basically, “we shouldn’t let normies see this/we shouldn’t give this person attention/we should hide the bad things”. And as much as I want folks not to hate us and spread rumors and misinformation about us, I don’t want to do it by covering our ears and pretending that problems don’t exist.

This is really a story about the harmful language around autism that Elon Musk and his followers use.

I love zines, and I want to make zines of my own to share with yall. Time to get off of my butt and take time away from another project and work on this 😅

We don’t know how to just be bored the same way that we used to.

Let’s keep being punching bags for bigots! /s

I love BDG’s horror work. I want more odd, unsettling horror.

This did not go the direction that I expected, but I laughed 🤣

I have this weird thing about doppelgängers. There’s a bit of horror, but it’s much more a morbid curiosity of being outside looking in.

I feel a pattern to my shares this week, and it’s… paranormal 🏳️‍🌈

The only real innovation in pyramid schemes is hiding the fact that they are pyramid schemes.

I don’t watch D&D content, but I love that communal storytelling is treated like a fun thing that anyone can do and doesn’t require being a super nerd or a satan worshipper. Not that either is bad!

If you made it this far, why not share this newsletter with a friend? Or share with me some of the things that you found that you liked this week. Either way, I’m thrilled!
