I’m a bit late, since I figured I’d try to space out my newsletters a bit more evenly. I’m going to be skipping later this week and next week, as I’m leaving in a few hours to head to Sweden for the first time ever. I’ll be attending Nordic Fuzzcon 2025, and finally meeting my long distance partner in person for the first time! I’ll be meeting her friends as well, and we plan on having a few days after to explore Malmรถ together.
The past week has been a lot of crafting of gifts that I’m bringing for folks to the con, including some chainmail making, wood burning, and printing and cutting buttons, stickers, and con badges.
I promise to take lots of pictures and share them when I return! In the meantime, here’s some sneak peek pics of what I’ve been working on (with a few that I’m withholding to keep surprises!), and a bunch of random things to read, watch, and listen to while I’m gone.

I remember a sense of pride working in web development when USDS was created, and some folks that I’d met and spoken to were made part of it in an effort to help actual people in the country. What a wasted effort now
Border collies are amazing, don’t bother changing my mind.
Unsurprisingly, like every AI chatbot, it failed. But it’s the new hotness and is Chinese, so this is apparently more newsworthy.

I keep thinking that I should accept an invite to play this game. I love the vibe and old internet chat aesthetic.
I’ve been thinking of getting a handheld emulator to carry around, forgetting that DS has been doing it well for years, and I already own one.
I’m so impressed with the things that people do, yet surprised that a few things that I’ve considered I’ve still not seen in practice yet. Granted, just the sewing and shaping part alone is monumental to me, so I should be amazed enough
Shockingly, the problem is not marginalized people, it’s White Supremacy.

I love Riki Lindhome’s acting and musical comedy, and she is clearly as in on the joke as can be.
Makes sense to promote alien conspiracies if you want to hide the actual spycraft and war crimes that you’re doing instead.
I wish that it was easier, but it really requires all of us, unfortunately. We have to make a conscious choice, instead of letting the decisions for the future of the web be made for us.
Two bands that I like! I agree, it’s such a catchy song.
Sigh, why do we cede any ground? Or by we, I mean liberals and centrists. The Right is moving farther, let us Leftists yank back!
This isn’t really horror to me at all. Maybe that says something about my conception of self and of the body. ๐ณ
If you made it this far, why not share this newsletter with a friend? Or share with me some of the things that you found that you liked this week. Either way, I’m thrilled!
