Inktober with Pokémon!

I’ve been enjoying drawing Pokémon everyday for Inktober this year. I’ve been trying out new techniques, and playing around more than I normally do when I’m under a crunch. Plus, it’s just been fun!

Here’s the first eleven prompts and Pokémon that I chose:

  1. Apple: Applin
  2. Relic: Relicanth
  3. Miniature: Joltik
  4. Cactus: Cacnea & Maractus
  5. Smack: Hariyama
  6. Ogre: Ogerpon
  7. Panic: Whismur
  8. Stinky: Stunky & Garbodor
  9. Ram: Rampardos
  10. Mystical: Mew
  11. Rescue: Chansey

If you wanna see them all, check out my YouTube shorts, Bluesky, or Mastodon.

🎥

the entire history of 4chan, i guess – fern
A site that was a portend for the future to come, shaping it as it was shaped by culture around it.

Jacob Geller, Cornell & the Future We Save for Men – Jessie Gender
It’s so hard to empathize with the person who experienced actual harm over the way that the harmful side might experience anything.

The Unhinged Ladies Who Terrorized Greedy Merchants – PBS Origins
You know, we could basically do this now too. There’s even more of us than there are greedy merchants now.

DELISTED – Omeleto
A few scenes here and there are cringe with how they lean in to current day fears and criticism. But overall this leads to a fairly believable story, including a government that barely stands in the way of a tech giant, or cedes power and control to that megacorp.

But when did we let people minding their own business get in the way of scapegoating them?

We are going to kill “unalive” – Anil Dash
It would be nice if platforms would stop punishing everyone because they don’t want to acknowledge the real world.

The Future Of Knowledge Work With AI – Aaron Horwath, NOEMA
I believe that AI can help with some things. But if all you’re doing is making AI text for an AI to consume, what’s the point of work?

🎧

World’s Greatest! (Official Video) – Lil Nas X
I’m loving this song, and the video and tribute at the end are both beautiful.

Piano Journal, Vol. 4 (Full EP) – Alkis Livathinos
Another beautiful piece from a great artist.
