david wolfpaw • 21 May 2024 • Reading time: 5 minsNot much of excitement has happened over the past week in my life. I’ve been preparing for a presentation at WordCamp Montclair in two weeks, where I’ll be talking about Monetization with your WordPress site.
In the meantime, I’ve also been taking on this long list of tasks that I put together for my business site and personal site and getting them done. This is one of the reasons that I like keeping a running task list, even if I put it away somewhere. I put down ideas so that I don’t forget them, and so they don’t weigh down my mind.
The key for this tactic to me is out of sight, out of mind. I keep my timed task list, showing recurring tasks and things to do today or tomorrow. But then in a separate folder I put the tasks that I know that I’ll want to get to someday, but have no specific deadline.
It’s nothing revolutionary, but something that I don’t see enough people doing when it comes to recording ideas for the future.
That’s my task for you for the week: when you have ideas that excite you and that you don’t have a timeline for, write them down somewhere! Somewhere semi-organized! It doesn’t matter where or how, just get it out of your mind and have solace in the idea that it will be awaiting you when the time is right.
