david wolfpaw • 15 Aug 2025 • Reading time: 7 minsWhat a week! I’ve been feeling better, then immediately started feeling sick again in a totally different way. Now I’m on the upswing again minus coughing up some congestion randomly.
But I did get to spend some time with partners, as well as their partners back in town. I helped host a little Little gathering over the weekend, and I got to spend time with folks that I don’t often see.
Now that we’re just about two weeks out from Megaplex, and a week from folks coming to visit and making the free time more limited, I’m in a real crunch time. This means that I’ve gotta focus on these specific projects:
- Finish designs of stickers and buttons for my Artist Alley table. I’ve got a lot done, but still about a dozen on my todo list in various levels of completion
- Finish printing said stickers and buttons.
- Make more wooden pin samples to display for commissions.
- Finish making badges, stickers, and pins for my friends and partners who are joining me at the con. These are about 2/3 done already.
- Finish pretty much every single part of my full fursuit, and the partial fursuit for my partner. This is the thing that I’m slowest on, since I basically have to figure every step out.
- Finish the scavenger hunt app for the con. This is about 90% done, but we keep coming up with little updates for it, and I need to do some online testing so that it doesn’t immediately break when people use it.
- Make a landing page for PawPals, which I’ve once again had to put on the backburner for all of the above. I still want to take advantage of the ability to market it there and get interest signups to share to for a beta launch.
I know, it’s a lot! I know, I should have done more earlier! I know, procrastination and looming deadlines can make amazing things happen sometimes.
I figure whatever I get done is already amazing, since none of it is “required” as much as they are personal goals. My hope is that most of this list is done enough by the time the con rolls around. In a week, you’ll be getting more pics of what I have!

A reminder that we don’t own software, nor truly own hardware with software that others own.
I think that the creation of human is a mistake, and will take jobs away from AI who need them.

I didn’t realize that it’s been so long, but I love the kind of career that Simone has built for herself in public, and I hope to do something like that someday.
Funny and fun, and as a UCF alum, I feel seen.
I just did a whole rewatch of Bojack Horseman with a friend in the past month. I’m looking forward to Long Story Short!
I can’t say that I often spend time looking at the profiles that other people make, or would spend time looking at a custom designed youtube page over the actual videos. But it would be nice to have those options still for those who want it.

When there aren’t protections in place for underage workers (or those protections that do exist are actively being rolled back), more harm will come without a word on how to fix it from the “Think of the children!” crowd.
The story of the sinking of the Titanic is well known, but I did not know that the frantic quest for news about what happened led to some really unhinged behavior from newspapers.
Pyramid Schemes are known by most people to be complete scams. But now that we’ve had their owners in powerful government positions, it seems like we can’t do anything to get away from them.
I’m not generally faulting people for forming the kinds of relationships that they do with chatbots. But I am once again reminding that we can’t rely on always having software that we do not fully own.
