Last weekend I attended Midwest Furfest 2023 in Chicago. It was a wild time! I had a lot of great and amazing experiences, some of which I share in my vlog below:

What I didn’t put in my vlog was the number of negatives that have been going on lately. Just since the con started:

  • I had to take folks to the hospital at the con in the middle of the night (they are fine now).
  • Our neighbor has once again gotten aggressive, and we have had to involve law enforcement more than once this month. There is still no resolution to that problem.
  • On the way home from the con my partner and I were in a car accident. We are both now fine, but their car is totaled and we are working on a replacement.
  • My partner had to go to the ER for a medical emergency, though they are now fine.
  • My husband had to go to the ER the same night for a different medical issue, but he is also healing and resting now.

This is on top of a lot of personal struggles in 2023. It has admittedly not been my best year. And I know that it hasn’t been the best for those close to me either.

But through it all, one thing has stayed true: my support network, both in person and online, absolutely take the credit for keeping me safe and sane. The one thing above all that I want to ensure for 2024 is maintaining and strengthening those relationships.

Next week I’ll talk 2024 goals, but in the meantime, I love all of you 🥰
