For the insider baseball view of what I use for newsletters, I post them to my WordPress site first, and use the plugin Newsletter Glue to convert them into a format that works better for email. I bought that plugin very shortly after it came out, when the pricing was much more reasonable for an individual creator that it is now, with a focus on larger newsrooms.
When I am done writing the newsletter, Newsletter Glue passes the formatted email to Sendy, which is my email sending service. This is where the email lists and subscribers are maintained, and connects to a bulk mailer to actually get the emails to your inbox. It all sounds like a lot of work, but thankfully that’s mainly behind the scenes. I write words on my WordPress site, I press Publish, and it comes to your inbox.
That’s something that I like about the state of some technologies today. While there are a lot of caveats and gotchas (nothing is free, and everything eventually breaks), there are so many ways to just get started turning an idea into reality. The ability to be ourselves online is a superpower, one that I don’t take lightly. Barriers are being removed, gatekeepers are losing some power, and tools are spreading more widely.
Now we just need to make the space to write, and to click Publish.

Would you believe it if I said that Elon Musk was blocking posts on Twitter that link the names StoneToss and Hans together? After all, he wouldn’t want anyone doxxed or anything on his shitty platform, right?
This applies to games, but it applies to everything else too. With so much music, writing, video, and art of all types being produced, it’s becoming harder and harder to find new things that fit you, and share things that you’ve made with others. Trust me, I know 
Last time I worked with others at a company that I helped to make, we ran it as a collective. While it didn’t go very far, it was unrelated with that feature. I’d gladly do this again.
Why oh why are large companies putting literally everything onto one computer system? Have they never heard of anti-fragility?

All four parts of this gave me new levels of depravity of Steve Jobs’ mind that I was not aware of. Like I knew that he was an asshole, but I didn’t realize that he was a monster too.
What a shock, acting on social media finally when it lets Congress be xenophobic and preference American corporations that have caused far more harm.
I love that this furry art group makes their music available specifically to be used by others. I have been trying to integrate music into my vlogs, but it always sounds inauthentic to me. I’m going to give it another go.
