thinking about channel splitting as I inktober

I wrote a blog post this morning about how I’m going to likely move from the one YouTube channel that I have into three separate channels eventually. It’s something that I keep overthinking a ton, and at this point I just need to make a decision if I want to hit the ground running in 2026 on video production.

The daily #Inktober videos have helped, allowing me to find routes to quickly get videos up that have a base level of quality but aren’t completely overthinking things.

My partner Mattie has been doing some amazing editing of clips from her Twitch streams, and while I’d like to get to that level at some point, I’m not quite there. I want to make sure that when I get to scripted video essays, my editing is at least as good as my recording. Hopefully with topics interesting enough for yall to actually watch too 😅

The Verge did a series on being trans on the internet. This article, and How trans visibility became a trap have what I find to be the most important question: how can you be as public as anyone else, and provide support and comfort to the next generation when they most need it, when it makes you a target?

I’m sorry, no one is cheering at you for your car choice, taking toys from you, or crying against your chest when you smash their prejudice against who you are as a person (an asshole) with your perfect logic.

More coverage of our lives means more validation? Wrong, it just means more to be picked apart and analyzed by bad actors.

I needed to include some story that isn’t terribly dour this week 😅💦

Look, many of my interests are “here me out”s. No Shame.

Everything can be a form of recruitment, especially cornerstones of culture like cuisine.

Still going strong, still making me think of therapy in different ways.

I like the way that Rudy Fraser addresses the issues that he and social media in general are facing. It’s not his job to fix everything; he’s making a space for specific needs and welcoming folks to it.

The program that people in power knew didn’t work the way that it promised, but did what they actually wanted by turning schools into part of the Police State while turning children into narcs.

Anything where you can promise an answer where the experts wisely don’t make such promises is a place that you can make money.

I’d love to break the fever of car culture, but that isn’t happening anytime soon in Central Florida.
