I’ve been reading some things on the internet that have been frustrating. That’s nothing new, right? But does that still stop any of us from getting annoyed at things that just seem so straightforwardly false or misleading that we feel compelled to reply?
But I’m also reminded how often replying does nothing but make things worse. After all, the person who took the time to write in the first place will think that they put enough effort in before posting, right? What could one say, even showing them the inaccuracies, that would change their position?
Who’s to say that our position is any less biased, but in an opposing direction? It can get complicated and messy in a short period of time trying to untangle fact from fiction.
I don’t know. I don’t have a point here. As usual I’m just rambling. I’m sure you’ve read something this week, probably already today, that made you shake your head in disbelief. I try to remember that there are folks who do the same when they read what I write. It’s not humility, it’s more an understanding that there is a limit to language in changing belief and feelings. We can’t always win others to our side.
Oh I also have a tooth infection that I’m finally getting treated. Which is better than my worry about having to get it pulled, but tbh I’d rather have it pulled right now over the pain
